Who we are
DreamDeep is the trading name of Chris Rodbourne, a sole trader based in England. Our address is Unit 19, Bucks Biz Business Centres, Interchange House, Howards Way, Newport Pagnell, MK16 9PY, United Kingdom. You can email us at support@dreamdeepcr.com. In these terms "we" and "us" means DreamDeep and "you" means the person who holds the licence.
Your licence
When you buy NeuralDream you buy a licence to use it, not the software itself. The licence is personal to you and it never expires. It is a one-off purchase with no subscription.
One licence covers both NeuralDream plugins, the instrument and the effect. You may install and activate them on up to three computers that you own or control. The licence is tied to the email address used to buy it, which you need when you activate.
You may use NeuralDream to make music and sound for any purpose, including commercial releases, film, games and broadcast.
The music and sounds you make
Everything you create with NeuralDream belongs to you. You may use the factory presets and the sounds they produce in your own music without paying royalties or crediting us. You may not sell, give away or share the factory presets, wavetables or other content that comes with NeuralDream on their own or as part of a sound library, preset pack or another product.
What you may not do
You may not sell, lend, rent, share or transfer your licence or your licence key to anyone else. You may not copy NeuralDream except to install it as these terms allow and to keep backups. You may not reverse engineer, decompile or modify NeuralDream except where the law allows it. You may not get around its licensing in any way or remove any copyright or trademark notice from it.
The free trial
The 14-day free trial includes every feature of NeuralDream. A trial can be started once on each computer. When the trial ends NeuralDream stops working until you activate a licence.
Activation and working offline
NeuralDream needs an internet connection only to start a trial or to activate a licence. After that it works offline and does not contact us again. If you replace a computer and have no activations left, email us and we will help you move your licence.
Updates
Updates to NeuralDream version 2 are free to everyone who holds a licence. A future major version may be offered as a paid upgrade.
Other people's material
The neural engines in NeuralDream can load model files that you supply. Those files are not part of NeuralDream. You are responsible for having the right to use any model, sample or other audio that you load into it.
VST is a registered trademark of Steinberg Media Technologies GmbH. Audio Units and macOS are trademarks of Apple Inc. Windows is a trademark of Microsoft Corporation.
When the licence ends
Your licence ends if you break these terms or if your payment is refunded or reversed. When it ends you must stop using NeuralDream and uninstall it from every computer.
If something goes wrong
If you are a consumer, the law gives you rights that these terms cannot take away. NeuralDream must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. If it is not, we will try to repair or replace it. If we cannot, you may be entitled to some or all of your money back.
If NeuralDream damages your computer or other software because we did not use reasonable care and skill, we will repair the damage or compensate you. We are not responsible for losses that could not be foreseen when you bought NeuralDream. Please keep backups of your projects, as you would with any music software.
If you use NeuralDream in a business, we are not liable for any loss of profit, income, business or opportunity. Our total liability to a business is limited to the price it paid. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence or for fraud.
The law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, you may bring a claim in the courts of England and Wales or of the part of the United Kingdom where you live. If you live outside the United Kingdom, you also keep any rights the law of your own country gives you.
We may update these terms from time to time. The version on this page when you bought your licence applies to that purchase.
Buying and refunds
NeuralDream is sold through Link, the merchant of record service run by Stripe. Link takes your payment, works out and pays any VAT or sales tax, sends your receipt and answers questions about payments. Your bank statement shows LINK.COM* DREAMDEEP. We supply NeuralDream and your licence and we look after all support for the software.
The price on our website includes VAT for buyers in the UK. Link may show you the price in your own currency, with any local tax worked out at checkout.
Your licence key appears on screen as soon as your payment is confirmed and we email it to you at the same time. The installers can be downloaded from our website at any time.
Please try the free 14-day trial before you buy, to check that NeuralDream runs well on your computer and in your DAW.
Our albums
Our albums by DreamDeep CR are sold and delivered by Bandcamp under its own terms. The buttons on our album pages take you to Bandcamp to buy them.
Refunds and cancelling
Link's purchase terms give consumers in the UK and the European Union the right to cancel within 14 days of receiving access to NeuralDream. We will also refund you in full if NeuralDream cannot be made to run on a supported system and you tell us within 14 days of buying.
To ask for a refund, email support@dreamdeepcr.com from the address you used to buy. You can also contact Link support through the link in your receipt.
When a purchase is refunded, its licence is cancelled. Please then uninstall NeuralDream from every computer. None of this affects your legal rights.
Privacy
This section explains what personal information DreamDeep collects, why we collect it and what your rights are. DreamDeep (Chris Rodbourne, at the address above) is responsible for your information under UK data protection law. Email support@dreamdeepcr.com with any question about it.
What we collect and why
When you buy NeuralDream, Link collects your payment details and gives us your email address and an order reference. We never see or store your card details. We use your email address to create your licence, send you your key and help you with support. Our lawful basis is that we need this information to supply what you bought.
When you start a trial or activate a licence, NeuralDream sends our licence server your email address, your licence key if you have one, a scrambled identifier for your computer, a label for the computer to help us answer support questions and the version of NeuralDream. For a trial we also email you a 6-digit code to check that the email address is yours. We store these details to run your trial or licence, to limit each licence to three computers and to allow one trial on each computer. Our lawful basis is that we need this information to provide the trial or licence you asked for.
When you join the DreamDeep list, we keep your email address, the date, the page you joined from and the fact that you agreed. We use your address to email you news of DreamDeep's instruments, updates, releases and offers. If you joined to get DriftDream, we also use it to send you the download links. Our lawful basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time with the link in every email or by emailing us.
When you start a trial or activate a licence, we also add your email address to the DreamDeep list unless you tick No thanks. The law allows this because you have shown interest in our product, as long as you can refuse at the time and in every email we send. Once you refuse, we never add you again. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in telling people who use NeuralDream about our own products.
When you start a trial or activate a licence you bought, we also send you a few emails about it, whether or not you tick No thanks. A trial brings a welcome email and three more: halfway through, three days before it ends and when it has ended. The first activation of a licence you bought brings a thank-you email. These emails are about your trial or licence and are not our newsletter. You can stop them at any time with the link in each email. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in helping you get the most from your trial or licence.
When we email you, Brevo records whether you open each email and which of its links you click. It does this with a tiny image and with links that pass through Brevo on the way to our website. We use these records to see how many people read our emails and which parts are useful. This helps us make them better. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in improving our emails. Most email apps let you turn off images, which stops the record of opening.
When you email us, we keep your messages so that we can help you. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in answering you.
When you visit our website, our web server records each request, including your internet (IP) address, the page and your browser type. Our licence server also records the internet address of each trial and activation request. We use these records only to keep our services secure, to stop misuse and to fix faults. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in running secure services.
To count visits to our website, a small script on each page tells our own server which page you opened, which website sent you there and whether you are using a phone, a tablet or a computer. To count how many different people visit without knowing who they are, our server turns your internet address and browser type into a scrambled code. The code changes every day and cannot be turned back into your address. We do not store your internet address for this count. Nothing is stored on your device and no other company sees these figures. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in understanding how our website is used.
We do not use your information to make automated decisions about you. We do not build profiles of you and we never sell your information.
Who else handles your information
IONOS hosts our website, our licence server and our email inbox. Our server is in the UK.
Brevo sends our emails and keeps our email lists. Brevo stores its data in the European Union.
Stripe and Link handle payments as independent businesses under the Stripe privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy. Stripe may process payment information in the United States under its own safeguards.
YouTube, which is owned by Google, receives information only if you choose to play a YouTube video on our website. Our YouTube videos play from YouTube's privacy-enhanced service.
Bandcamp, which sells our albums, receives information when you open one of our album pages, because each album page includes Bandcamp's player. It also does when you visit Bandcamp yourself. Bandcamp's own privacy policy then applies.
We share information with these companies only so that they can provide their services. We do not share your information with anyone else unless the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep licence and activation records for as long as your licence exists, because they let you activate NeuralDream again on a new computer.
We keep trial records for as long as we offer trials. They make sure each computer can have only one trial. Trial codes stop working after 15 minutes.
We keep your place on the DreamDeep list until you leave it. After you leave, we keep your email address on a do-not-email list so that you are never added again by mistake.
We keep your place on our trial and customer email lists for as long as we keep your trial or licence records.
We keep emails to support for as long as we need them to help you.
We keep web server and licence server records of requests only for as long as we need them to keep our services secure.
Our visit figures are totals for each day and hold nothing that identifies you. The scrambled codes used to count different visitors are deleted at the end of each day.
Your rights
You have the right to ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, to have it corrected and to have it deleted. You can also ask us to limit how we use it or to give it to you in a form you can pass to someone else.
You have the right to object to any use of your information that relies on our legitimate interests, including adding you to the DreamDeep list. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time.
To use any of these rights, email support@dreamdeepcr.com. We will reply within one month. If you ask us to delete your licence records, your licence can no longer be activated on a new computer.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, please tell us first so that we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
Cookies
Our website does not use cookies of its own. It has no advertising and does not track you. Our own server counts visits to our pages without cookies, as the Privacy section explains.
If you change the volume of the sound demos, your browser remembers the setting on your own computer so that the player starts at the same volume next time. The setting is never sent to us.
When you press Buy, you go to Link's checkout page, which uses its own cookies to take your payment and prevent fraud. A YouTube video on our website sets cookies only if you choose to play it. Our album pages include Bandcamp's player, which may set Bandcamp's own cookies.
Our own website uses no cookies that need your agreement. It therefore does not show a cookie banner.
If you have a question about anything on this page, email support@dreamdeepcr.com or write to us at the address above.
